Movies I'm thinking will be fun

Well the movie summer blockbusters have started to come out.

I've seen some of them and ignored others. I've seen Edge of Tomorrow, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and Transformers: Age of Extinction. I've not seen Amazing Spiderman 2, Maleficent, 22 Jump Street.

After the break are trailers for the list of movies that I want to pay for this summer in theater.

Hercules -
The Rock doing a classic fantasy 80's inspired romp as the big H in ancient greece. Sounds like a good idea. Using Ian McShane as the funny man - brilliant. The action scenes look great and Ian McShane is channeling some fun loving Lovejoy

Lucy -
Scarlett Johansson has been making some great choices for parts these days. Getting pulled for a sci-fi, Akira themed flick is neat. After watching the trailer and being reminded of other films like Lawnmower Man, Push, Hana, and Scanners - wow. Luc Besson, that guy who did 5th Element and Leon: The Professional makes fun movies. This looks fun.

Guardians of the Galaxy -
Based on the Abnett and Lanning run while Marvel was focused on more down to earth characters like the Avengers. They put together a crew of old and rarely used characters - revamped some, and put them in their comic book. They pulled some old classics like Drax (made him angry instead of stupid), brought back Rocket Racoon, pulled out of the dregs that guy named Starlord.

Mr. Bay once more delves into my childhood. I like the new fresh look of the brothers. I don't mind the lack of Casey Jones. I don't think the whole Robo Shredder will work but I'm willing to give it a try.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For
I loved the comics, I loved the first film. I'm looking forward to the next installment of the tales of the down and out folks of Basin City aka Sin City. Catching up with the Roarks, Dwight, and Marv will once more be so much fun.

Honorable Mentions: Expendables 3 -
This experiment is silly but so much fun at times. The first film was a mix of bangs and paff sound effects whizzing across the screen in homage to the 1980's action flicks. Now a new generation get pulled in and gets in trouble... hopefully better than the last new guy in second film. My one favorite return to the screen is Antonio who was more of the 90's action star. PLus he plays a bat shit crazy dude and he always does that well. I probably won't pay for this unless I'm bored and without things to spend money on... but later in a year or so I'll take a look. These movies are fun to watch because the actors are having pure fun and enjoying themselves and that shows on the screen most of the time.

See ya later.
